Welcome! I am Gaby Chavez. I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist working under the supervision of Charles Zeng in Southern California.
I am dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, individuals, and families in finding healing, growth, and greater emotional balance. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where people feel supported in exploring challenges, fears, conflict, and also their strengths.
My work is grounded in a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and inclusive approach. I believe every person’s story is unique, shaped by lived experiences, relationships, and environment. Therapy is a space where that story can be honored, understood, and worked through in a way that fosters resilience and meaningful change.
I integrate evidence-based and client-centered approaches tailored to each client’s needs, with experience supporting concerns related to trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, and complex family dynamics. My approach draws from:
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Humanistic and strength-based approaches
When it feels helpful and appropriate, I may also incorporate somatic and sensory-based interventions to support deeper emotional awareness and connection between mind, body, and environment.
Above all, I aim to collaborate with clients in a space rooted in empathy, respect, and acceptance. Together, we work toward practical tools and lasting change that support growth and well-being. If it feels like the right fit, I welcome the opportunity to connect and begin that process together.
